McAlpin, John T. 69, of Whitney. Died: July 6, 2008 at his residence. Memorial Service: Wed. July 9, 2008 1:30pm. White Bluff Chapel-Whitney. Officiating: Rev. Maurice Martin. Interment: Milford Cemetery, July 9, 2008 at 10 AM. Born: September 10, 1938 in Milford, son of W.H. and Myrtle Katherine (Green) McAlpin. He grew up in Milford and graduated from Milford High School in 1956. He graduated from University of Texas in 1962 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He married Anna Rose Whitson on August 25, 1962 and they were married for 45 years. He worked for Texas Power and Light and T.U. for 30 years and then did consulting work for 5 years. He and Anna moved to Whitney in 1999. He was a charter member of White Bluff Chapel and member of the First Methodist Church of Duncanville for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katherine Posey. Survivors: wife, Anna Rose of Whitney; children, David McAlpin of Seattle, Washington and Gregory McAlpin of Houston; brothers, W.H. McAlpin of Duncanville, S.E. McAlpin of Carrollton, and D.L. McAlpin of Midlothian; sister Betty Durst of San Antonio; grandson, Andrew McAlpin. In charge: Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Whitney, Texas. Visitation: Tue. 6:30-8:30 PM at the funeral home.
