At a Council held at Philadelphia 4 October 1746, George Goforth was appointed Coroner of Kent County, Delaware (Ancestry.com: Colonial records, Vol 555) George Goforth erected the Grist Mill and Sawmill known as "Goforth's Mill." The Goforth family may have been Quaker or Nicholite, as their names are in the Nicholite records of Delaware and North Carolina (Ancestry.com)
