NOTE: According to the 1851 Canadian census Michael and Nancy arrived in Canada on 1 Jul 1829. Find A Grave adds that they sailed on the barque "Anne" with James Smyth as Master, leaving the Port of Londonderry and arriving in the Port of St. John, St. John, New Brunswick. Their first child, Mary Jane, was born at sea on 22 June 1829. Michael Bryson and family must have spent a couple of years in Bovegagh, Londonderry prior to emigrating, as his name is found on the Tithe Applotment Books of Bovevagh, Londonderry for the year 1827.
