                   The Sproats are descendents from Henry Sampson of the Mayflower through Sampson's daughter Elizabeth, who married Robert Sproat. Officer in the Society of the Cincinnati.
The Sproats for more than a century (1897) have been wealthy and influential citizens of the country.
