Notes:
Said to have gone to N.C. in his youth. There may have been other children, and tradition says they may have changed their name to Robinson or Robertson and lived in a different part of the state, and were then lost to the records. He may have then gone to VA. where William, his son, was born. There may have been at least one other child, as there are traditions of nephews of William.

Notes:
William served in the Revolutionary War, and fought at the battle of "King's Mountain, Oct 7, 1780". He evidently lived near Jesse Palmer in VA. They were companions in arms during the war and the friendship seems to have been lifelong. William's sons married Jesse's daughters. I also had a birthdate of abt 1763. I also have that he moved to Turkey Creek, in Buncombe County, NC in the early 1800s. He may have been born in VA. (Kings Meadow). I also have from a 4th g-granddaughter (Julia Anderson Garland) that he died 30 Jun 1837. She also wrote that they came to Sandy Much, Buncombe County, NC after the Revolutionary War from Mecklenberg County, NC. "Robeson Family GenForum" at RootsWeb.
