Notes:
Could also be Vigne. Appears to have been childless.
Jean Vigne was the first white child born in the Dutch Colony of New Amsterdam, on Manhatton Island. The Steuart book states that he was certainly the first white child born North of the Virginia settlement in the original 13 states. This was later taken over by the British, and renamed New York. He was a brewer and a farmer, and occupied the old homestead.
Jean also owned the first brewery, located on Vine (Vigne) Street, New York.
Above taken from the New York Times.
