His parents were from PA. 1936 - News Comet 27 Nov 1936 - Annie Ruth, he was called Henry Rogers. News Comet 18 Feb 1944 - Ammon H. Rodgers Ammon Henry Rodgers, aged 78 years, died Sat morning at 8:15, at the home of his son, Earl Rodgers, Abbottstown R.D. 1, following an illnesss of some time. Mr. Rodgers was a son of the late Elder and Ebelinda Wantz Rodgers, ad was born May 12, 1865. He was a member of the Abbottstown Lutheran Church. his wife, who before marriage was Eliza Heilman, preceded him in death. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Margie Hoke, Abbottstown; Ammon H. Rodgers, Jr., and Mrs. Claude Auchey, Hanover; Mrs. Charles Baker, Abbottstown R.D. 1; Earl Rodgers, with whom he resided; Leroy Rodgers, Abbottstown, and Clarence Rodgers, Gettysburg; 56 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday afternoooon. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery in Abbottstwon. Serving as pallbearers were Marcus Hoover, Dyer Neff, Harry Hoke, J.J. Hahn, John Breighner and Maurice Wagaman. Must have been a very wealthy man. had lots of farms. He kept buying farms and letting his son Ammon farm them.

Pallbearers were John Breighner, Maurice Wagman, Mark Hoover, John Hoke, Jesse Hamm, and Oliver Trago. 1944 - they had 56 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren News Comet 24 Apr 1942 - Mrs. A.H. Rodgers Mrs. Elizabeth Heilman Rodgers, wife of A.H. Rodgers, Abbottstown, R.D. 1. died Wed at the age of 77 years. She was a daughter of Daniel and Barbara Haar Heilman, and was born January 12, 1865. Surviving are her husband, 7 children, Mrs. Margie Hoke; with whom she made her home; Ammom Rodgers and Mrs. Claude Auchey, Hanover R.D. 1; Mrs. Charles Baker, Earl Rodgers and Leroy Rodgers, Abbottstown, and Clarence Rodgers, New Oxford; 59 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Jennie Lillich, Abbottstown, and Mrs. John Stambaugh, Hanover. The funeral will be held Sat afternoon, with short services conducted at the home, and further services in the Lutheran Church at Abbottstown. Irene came from the estate of paul M. Hoke. 1958 - had at least 30 children adn grandchildren. 1970 - she had 12 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, one great treat grandchild. Elizabeth was living with her. 1930 - there is a Margaret Hoke, born about 1885 - living with a niece, Elizabeth Worley. They lived in Hanover. She was single so that is a problem. 1944 - living in Abbottstown The Gettysburg Times - 17 Apr 1970 - Mrs. Paul M. Hoke Mrs. Margie I. Rodgers Hoke, 84, Abbottstown, died at Hanover General Hospital Thurs. after being a patient for 10 days. She had been in declining health since March. A native of York County, sh ewas the daughter of the late A.H. and Eliza Heilman Rodgers. She resided in Abbottstown most of her life and was amember of the St. Johns Lutheran Church at Abbottstown. Her husband, Paul M. Hoke, died in 1930. Surviving are 2 children; mrs. Robert C. Emig, Abbottstown, and Richard E. Hoke, Abbottstown; 12 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; thress brothers and sister, Mrs. Charles W. Baker, Abbottstwon; and Earl D. Rodgers, of Abbottstown; and LeRoy W. Rodgers, New Oxford. Funeral services will be held on Sunday and interment at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Rodgers, Hillsboro, VA, a former resident of near Abbottstown, died Sat afternoon at 3 oclock in a hospital in Winchester, VA, following a week's illness from streptococcus infection. He was aged 52 years. Mr. Rodgers was a son of A.H. and Eliza Heilman Rodgers, near Abbottstown. Surviving besides his parents are his wife; eight children, Mildred, Lindbergh, Shirley and Geraldine, at home; Romaine, John, Paul and Earl, all of near Hillsboro; three grandchildren and the following sisters and brother, Mrs. Margie Hoke, near Abbottstown; Ammon Rodgers, near Littlestown; Mrs. Claude Auchey, near Hanover; Mrs. Charles Baker and Earl Rodgers, both of near Abbottstown; Mrs. Glen Noel and Clarence Rodgers, Funeral Wed, interment was made in teh Lutheran cemetery at Abbottstown. 1926 - it looks like they may have been living in Hillsboro, VA. That was where Walter was. 1938 - suffered a broken leg. He said that he stumbled while cutting corn and struck the butt of a cornstalk. 1940 - lived near Littlestown. 1942 - lived at Hanover RD 1, Conewago Twp, Adams, PA.. He was a farmer. His wife was Alice A. 1949 - fell 12 - 14 feet onto concrete while helping a neighbor. 1951 - moved from Abbottstown to New Oxford R1. 1960 - he had 26 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 1942 - Lived in Hanover. R.D. 1. 1944- living in Hanover. Had more than 60 descendants in 1962. Mrs. Ellen M.Auchey - News Comet Feb 9 1945 Mrs. Ellen M. Auchey, widow of Claude E. Auchey, died last Thursday at 3:45 a.m. at the Hanover General Hospital, where she was admitted as a patient on Wednesday morning. Death occured on her 50th birthday anniversary. Mrs. Auchey was a daughter od the late Ammon Henry and Eliza Heilman Rodgers. She was a member of the St. Matthew's Lutheran church, and was employed by the Hanover Glove company. Her husband preceded her in death August 21, 1940. Surviving are 10 children: Norman Auchey, Hanover R.D. 1; Claude H. Auchey, Hanover; Pvt. Irvin C. Auchey, serving in the U.S. Army in France; Mrs. Stanley Resh, at home; Private Fred. E. His second wife, Violet L. Hoff, died in 1974. He owned and operated a sawmill in Abbottstown and was a contractor from 1933 to 1981. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Wilmer D. Rodgers of Abbottstown; two daughters, Frances R. Morton of Dallasville and Miriam Livelsberger of New Oxford; two stepsons, etc. etc. 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and steps children, etc. Funeral services will be held on Tues, burial at St. Johns lutheran church in Abbottstown.

Interesting: 10 Jan 1930 - East Berlin Comet: Glen Noel, New Oxford, advertises that his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Rodgers Noel, having left his romm and board without just cause, he will not be responsible for any debts contracted by her. 1940 - lived in New Oxford. Mrs. Noel was a daughter of Ammon Henry and Eliza Heilman Rodgers , near Abbottstown, and was born Aug 15 1906. Surviving besides her parents are her husband - three children, Betty, Rosalie, and Carroll Kenneth Noel, at home; four brothers and three sisters as follows: Ammon Rodgers, near Littlestown; Mrs. Paul Hoke, Abbottstown; Mrs Ellen Auchey, near Honver; Mrs. Charles Baker and Earl Rodgers, both of near Abbottstown; Leroy Rodgers, Abbottstown; and Clarence Rodgers, New Oxford. Funeral was held Sunday a week, burial in the Lutheran cemetery at Abbottstown. Pallbearers were Ammon, Earl, Leroy, Clarence Rodgers and Clarence and Harry Noel.
