Served as a Private Co. A. 87th PA Volunteer Infantry from August 2, 1864 until June 30, 1865.
Born November 12, 1825, died March 18, 1893. Buried Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville, Balir County, PA. Section A.

Joseph G.W. Burns

Died at his home, near Canan's Station, on the Hollisaysburg branch road, at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. Mr. Burns was the only son of Aaron Burn, of Williamsburg, this county, in which place he was born December 1824, being at the time of his death in his 69th year.
He was one of the original members of the Collinsville church, which was organized by Rev. Dr. Henry Baker. In his dying hours his spiritual wants were administered  to by Rev. E. D. Weigle, of the First Lutheran Church of this city. Deceased was the father of twelve children, of whom Mrs. W.B. Stahl and Mrs. R.R. Robinson preceded him to the grave. The following survive:

Mrs. Sarah Hewitt and Mrs. Rachel Cober of Williamsburg.
In addition to the above, 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive.
The funeral services will be held at his late home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and will be conducted by Rev. E.D. Weigle, assisted by Rev. J.F. Hartman.
Persons desiring to attned the funeral will take the 1:50 train, which will stop at Burn's crossing. Returning train will arrive in Altoona at 5:17P.M.

MRS JOSEPH G.W. BURNS DIES SUDDENLY AT HER HOME NEAR CANAN'S STATION

Mrs. Jos. G.W. Burns, an aged lady, died suddenly, of paralysis, at 11:30 o'clofk this morning at her residence near Canan's Station, on the Hollidaysburg branch road. Her husband died on teh 18th of last month. The deceased was a member of the First Lutheran Church of this city. She was the mother of twelve children, of whom whom Mrs. W.B. Stahl and Mrs. R.R. Robinson preceded her to the grave. The other children are listed, the same as in Joseph G.W.'s obit, except it had Mrs. M. Carnahan, of Hagerstown, MD.
