I also have a first name as being Zadock. Zadock and his wife, Anne Seymour, lived at Suffield, Conn. and Halford's Landing NY. Colonel Zadock Granger lived on a farm with his father Robert, upon the bank of the Connecticut river, opposite the island. He was a farmer, interested in the mills, mines and fisheries. At one time he was the owner of the island, and the water power belonging to it. About 1870, he built the house now standing which he sold to Thaddeus Granger, when he removed to Genessee Co. He was a Lieutenant in the 2nd company of the Suffield Train band, in March 1775, and Captain the succeeding May. He was a private in Capt. Elihu Kent's Co. of minute men at the Lexington alarm, and undoubtedly saw other service, though the record cannot be found. His son Eli, having removed in 1796 to Halfords landing, now within the present limits of Rochester, NY. The Colonel follwed him in 1798 and became interested as a merchant and ship owner at that point. He died of a fever prevalent there in 1799.
He married Anne Seymour 11 Aug 1731 at Suffield, Hartford, Connecticut . Anne Seymour was born at Farmington, Hartford, Connecticut 28 Jul 1712 .
