Could be Emich (in IGI Pedigree). Could be Emigh also. Could be Johannes Phllip. Orphans court document. His wife called him John Emig Sr. He was called Sr. in the PA Republican 7/23/1834, which had his obituary. I also have the original will in 1760 in German, that is referenced in the older will. The signatures match between the 2 documents. He was living in Winchester Twp, in 1760, when the 1760 will was written. In the marriage document at First Reformed Church in Lancaster, his father is named as John. This last John Ehmig, Yeoman or Farmer, was the father of Valentine Ehmig, who in 1802 bought a farm at what is now called Emigsville. He was named for his grandfather, Valentine Krantz, and he served in the Revolution from York County. Deeds Book G, 120 (York County). 10 May 1776, John Ehmig of Manchester Twp, yeoman, and Maria Margaret his wife; to Michael Welsh of the Town of York, cordwainer; for 240 pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania; the western 1/2 of Lot no. 107 (on the south side of High Street) in York Town, which Conrad Beyrer and Barbara his wife had conveyed to the grantor 23 Feb 1767. Came to America in 1732, age 16. He was a revolutionary soldier. One of the Emig Researchers((Lourye Emig - wife of Melvin Emig) stated that Johannes parents were Johannes and Anna Dorothea Rotter of Uttenhoffen, to America on the ship Pink John and William.
He married Anna Eva Dorothea Rotter 21 Nov 1717 at Uttenhoffen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France . Anna Eva Dorothea Rotter was born at Gundershoffen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France 27 Feb 1692 daughter of Hans Georg Rotter and Anna Maria Volckel .
