Of N.J.Was one of the leading men of the society of Friends of the Quakertown Meeting. He was a member of the Hunterdon County Board of Freeholders in 1730, and Justice of the Peace in 1741.

She survived her husband, but upon her death, the country was in such an unsettled state (about 2 years before the Declaration of Independence) that the children were sent to live with relatives in PA. She was descended from the Wood and Clayton families. From these 2 families it is said, are descended a fair proportion of the Philadelphians of the present time. Anne was also descended from the Lambert and Parnell families.

Lived in Pittstown, where he had begun the practice of medicine in 1743, after having studied under Dr. Thomas Cadwalader of Philadelphia (a relative of his mother). Dr. Rockhill became a noted physician and surgeon, not only in the immediate meighborhood, but in a vast region around. He travelled through the forest on horseback. He also took an active interest in public affairs, Survryor to the West Jersey Board of Landed Proprietors, and Justice of the Peace.
