John Clayton ROCKHILL
Lived at Pittstown,N.J. He was a farmer,Surveyor, and Justice of the Peace. He married his step-sister.
She survived her husband, and resided in the homestead in Pittstown, with her orphaned grandson, George W. Rockhill. She was a great-aunt to President Theodore Roosevelt.
Brought up in Philadelphia. He was a prominent merchant of that place, conducting a large business. He was named for Dr. Thomas Cadwaladera friend and connexion of the family, and a well known and noted physician of Philadelphia.
Born and lived in Pittstown, Hunterdon County,N.J.
He and his wife died shortly after their marriage.

He married Gaynor Lukens Potts 27 Aug 1789 . Gaynor Lukens Potts was born at 10 Mar 1764 daughter of Thomas Potts and Elizabeth Lukens .
