His child Sallie's obituary stated that she was the youngest daughter. He was for many years one of the m ost experienced and efficient navigators of the Cape Fear.
Owned and lived on the Old Robeson Place called "Walnut Grove" formerly the property of Thomas Robeson. This land granted to Thomas by King George II in 1735. It has remained in the family continuosly since. It is located on the Cape Fear River in Tar Heel, NC.
He married Eliza Ann McKay 24 Nov 1841 at At the bride's home . Eliza Ann McKay was born at 9 May 1824 .
