                   Secretary of the Navy, graduated from Princeton in 1847.In the Civil war he took an active part. Appointed Attorney General of N.J. in 1867 and Secretary of the Navy June 1869, by President Grant. He held the position until the end of Pres. Grant's term in 1877. He was sent to Congress in 1879 and re-elected in 1881.
He died at his home.

                   Origially I had Mary Isabelle Ogston, but her Obituary is different.  I am not even sure of her first names. The obituary only had Mrs. George M. Robeson, and had the daughter named.
There is another obituary, that states her name as Mary Ogston Robeson. - Philadelphia Inquirer 10 Apr 1910. So, I don't know what her name was.

Gr.-granddaughter of George Clifford Maxwell and Rachel Bryan, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of John Maxwell and Mary Anna Clifford, his wife. John Maxwell, who was born in Ireland, entered the service as lieutenant of Sussex county volunteers. He was captain of a company of the Jersey Line, commanded by his brother William, and was engaged at Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth and Springfield.
