ancestral file lists him as being born in 1660 married in 1690 but has the same death date. Immigrated from England in abt 1720. Came to Va around 1700 by Henry Fishwick, British researcher. book The Helm Family of Virginia FHL says "Leonard Helm by patent date in the Proprietors Office 5 Janurary 1726 and, "Since that ye said Leonard Helmes hath sold and convyed unto John Overall 500 acres of land....acknowledge by Leonard Helm 23 July 1739 and the deed is signed by Leo. Helm, Prince William County Deed Book "D" on page 172." In Frederick Co. Va. Ch. 1 says "Leonard Helm in order to prove his right to take up land according to the Royal Charter, made oath that he came into this country, and that he brought with him, Elizabeth his wife, Joseph Helms, Maybrie Helms, Ann Helms, and Mary Helms, his children and that this is the first time proving the said importations, whereupon, Certificate is ordered to be granted them of right to take up three hundred andfifty acres of land" Will probated 6 Nov. 1745.

born at "Helmly" a house. The oldest stone house in Clark County (MacDonald, Clarke County pp 1,2. Justice Frderick Order Book pg 6 and 7, 59, and 347 said he was born in 1680 in Eng. and immigrated before his father.
