       William was born in Dutchess County, New York in 1809. He moved with his parent to Norwich, Ont. about 1821. Later he married Hanna Tompkins. They moved to Ingham County, Michigan.
       They are the parents of Dr. T. Stringham of Alma Michigan who was born in 1847.
       They are also the parents of Jane Stringham born Dec 4, 1842 in Michigan. She came to Norwich in her teens. She served the community as a practical nurse and was a member of the Society of Friends. She died  Jun 22, 1934 at 91 years of age and is buried at the West Quaker cemetery, Norwich, Ontario.
