Stringham, Ogden, Utah William moved with his family of four sons and a colony of Quakers to Norwich County Canada about 1815-1821. The day after their arrival at Norwich the Stringhams drove 2 miles east and 2 miles south and stopped where a tributary flowed in the Otter Creek. They built their log structures on the west bank of Otter Creek. They cleared a sizable acreage of flat fertile soil to the north west where they grew their crops. They built a dam on Otter Creek and constructed a crude water powered saw mill and opened a gravel pit. The family prospered.
