                   NOTE: Edward Dexter Bloomer, originally named Edward Phillip Lewis, was adopted at age 3 by Dexter Chamberlain Bloomer and Amelia Jenks after the death of his biological mother, Eliza Freeman in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  His father, Joseph Lewis, left him and his siblings to either be adopted or to live with friends when he left Iowa to travel on to Idaho.
