                   Came from hanover Township, Lancaster (now Dauphin), PA, and moved to Western PAwhen he was a young man.
Probably a scion of the Stewart family, whose founder Lazarus, died in 1745.
Probably related to his wife Jane distantly.
It is possible that the first Lazarus Stewart and George Stuart were relatives.
Occupation: Justice of the Peace, conveyancer, town clerk and treasurer. He was also the first sheriff of the county, and served in the legislature for 2 terms.
