I saw the headstone at the cemetery, and read the dates. Died at age 76 years, 4months and 20 days. Photographed 6/23/06. 1870 - they had Barbara Markline aged 12, and Leonard markline, aged 10 living with them??? Last name spelled Graeff. New Oxford Item 1 Nov 1889 - Oct 17, near Abbottstown, Mr. Joseph Graff, aged 76 years and 24 days. He was from Paradise Township in 1845 when he was married. 1850 census - in Berwick Township. He was listed as a laborer. He was living with Mary, Tempest and Albert. 1860 census he was listed as Joseph Grafe. 1880 Census he was in Paradise Township with his wife and a 13 year old servant named Annie Shanebrook. His will is dated 12 Jun 1882, probated 30 Oct 1889. Will probate: York Historical Society, Source Bk FF, pg 248. He was living in Paradise Twp, and is listed as a yeoman. In the will his wife is described as his beloved wife in lieu of her dower at common law?? Were they not married??? In the will it is interesting to note that he bequeaths a portion to Elizabeth Graff, who is intermarried with my son Tempest W. Graff, but named Albert A. amd Joseph W. Graff. I don't have wives for them, but it is interesting to note thatElizabeth is mentioned each time, and nont him I saw the burial record at York Historical Society. The newspapers spelled his name Graff when he was married.

I saw the headstone. Died at age 82 years, 10 months, 26 days. I saw the burial record at York Historical Society. Her marriage announcement stated that she was from Paradise Township, York, PA. The headstone was under Mary Wilson. Renounced executorship for her husband in 1889.

I also have a birthplace of Berwick Township, Adams, PA. I also have a marriage place as York, PA. I used Abbottstown, because Uncle Lew had this.He appeared to have the more accurate information. I also have a referral to 2 "other" children who may have died young. I only have one reference to these. This would conform to the one census that they had 1 children, but maybe that is where someone else got it? I have seen his headstone. Buried with his wife, Mary Hydeman, Marie and Elsie. I saw the baptism record from the St. John's Church records. 1890 - 16 May New Oxford Item: On Friday Sheriff Taughinbaugh sold the properties of Tempest W. Graff, in Reading and Ltimore townships to W.W. York Historical Society, Source Bk FF, pg 248 I also found in the 1850 census (done 6th Sep 1850) of Berwick County. He was 8 Months old. York Historical Society, Source. 1860 census he is with his parents. (Albert Grafe) Moved to Los Angeles before 1888. 1900 A A Graff, from PA, he was retired. He was a lodger. He was single. 1910 - he was living in LA with a lady named Emma M. Haick. He was a real estateagent. He was widowed. She was 50 and single. She was from Indiana. Her parentswere from PA. She is listed as a housekeeper for a private family. Albert was areal estate agent. He was 60 years old and widowed. I got the middle name and baptism dates from the St. Johns Register. 5/4/09 - I have the document that confirms that Albert Augustus Graff of Los Angeles, is the son of Joseph W. Graff, and brother of Joseph Henry Graff. This was signed in 1891 from LA. 1888-1890 - 16 South Spring St. LA Cass & Graff, real estates agents 1888 - Albert A. Graff, Frank O. They lived inAbbottstown. 1860 census, he was living with Joseph and Mary. 1880 - Living in Dillsburg, he was a dentist. Listed as J.H. HIs wife was May. 1900 census, Living in Carroll, York, PA, with Maria and Katharine. 1910 Miracode - living with Maria and Katherine 1910 - living in Carroll, York, PA. Maria L. and Katherine are there. He was a dentist in General practice. He was living in Dillsburg, PA 27th Mar 1890 and in 1897 and 1920. 1913 - Dr. J.H. Graff, of Dillsburg, is attending the general assembly of Presbyterian church as a commissioner from Carlisle Presbytery. 1920 living in Dillsburg - he was a dentist. Maria, Katherine and Belinda were there. Apparently only had one child. He is named in his father's will. He was named as alternate Executor to his father's will. Sometimes you see him as Joseph W. Graff. Died before Jul 1930.
I have she was 10 days old upon death. I saw the burial record at York Historical Society. The St. Johns register has the dates I am using. The other dates I had were 10 Jul 1855 for a birth. She was apparently buried with Joseph, Mary, and Mary Frances. She died at 0-0- 10.
He married Mary Wilson 13 Feb 1845 at Berwick Twp, Adams, Pennsylvania . Mary Wilson was born at Pennsylvania 26 Mar 1812 daughter of Tempest Wilson and Anna Mary Ziegler .
