James Allison HARRIS
Tanner and Farmer. He owned and operated the Tannery known as Spring Tannery, Licking Creek Township, Fulton County, PA. which was owned and operated by his father, William Washington Harris. He kept it after his father's death. He was a member of the PA. Legislature 1882, 1883, 1184. He was Justice of the Peace for 25 years, County Commissioner of Fulton County for one term, County Auditor and a Presbyterian elder for 30 years. He was a Democrat.
Paralyzed in lower limbs by a railroad accident. Never married. Democrat.
Killed on railroad.

Educated in the public schools. He operated same tannery his father and grandfather previously operated. He was also a teacher. He held the offices of Prothonotary, Registrar, Recorder and Clerk of Courts of Fulton County for 9 years. He was President of the Fulton County Bank, vice-president of First National Bank of McConnellsburg, PA. He was Treasurer of Federal Land Bank of Baltimore 1917-1921, in 1927 he was President of Potomac Joint Stock Land Bank in Washington D.C.
Fell from a wagon and was killed.
