IGI stated that he may have been born in Pictou.

He was listed in the 1860 census in Williamsburg, PA.

MRS JOSEPH G.W. BURNS DIES SUDDENLY AT HER HOME NEAR CANAN'S STATION

Mrs. Jos. G.W. Burns, an aged lady, died suddenly, of paralysis, at 11:30 o'clofk this morning at her residence near Canan's Station, on the Hollidaysburg branch road. Her husband died on teh 18th of last month. The deceased was a member ofthe First Lutheran Church of this city. She was the mother of twelve children, of whom whom Mrs. W.B. Stahl and Mrs. R.R. Robinson preceded her to the grave. The other children are listed, the same as in Joseph G.W.'s obit, except it had Mrs. M. Carnahan, of Hagerstown, MD.
                  

                   Tanner and Farmer. He owned and operated the Tannery known as Spring Tannery,  Licking Creek Township, Fulton County, PA. which was owned and operated by his father, William Washington Harris. He kept it after his father's death. He was a member of the PA. Legislature 1882, 1883, 1184. He was Justice of the Peace for 25 years, County Commissioner of
Fulton County for one term, County Auditor and a Presbyterian elder for 30 years.
He was a Democrat.
