1900 - teacher 1910 - travelling agent for Books. 1920 - was a salesman for books and stationary. Parents were bonr in PA. Henry and Eliza Rodgers lived near. 1930 - lived in Abbottstown. He was a widower. He was a clerk at the state capitol. 1933 - was an executor of W.F. Hollinger. Was Justice of the Peace in the Abbottstown area. Baker Funeral COnducted Saturday Pallbearers ar the funeral Saturday of George Washington Baker, one of Adams County's most prominent citizens, were John Hollinger, George G. Hollinger, Mark K.Baker, Richard Hoke, Jed Harman and Herbert Hoke. Funeral services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church, Abbottstown. Intermentwas in the church cemetery. Mr. Baker had been raking his leaves on the lawn of his home when he was fatallystricken Wed afternoon. Death followed in a matter of minutes. His wife Maude Hollinger died in 1920. Surviving are two daughters and a son, Mrs. John Sheffer, Hanover; Mrs. John M. Seaks, at home, and Tom H. Baker, of Washington, PA. There are 5 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Carson, Marion, and Mrs. Susan Stock, Abbottstown. He was a past master of Hebron Lodge 465 of the Masons of New Oxford.

In 1880 census. 1899 - music teacher 1910 census - had 3 children all alive. New Oxford Item - 5 Feb 1920 Maude Hollinger Baker: Mrs. Maude Hollinger Baker, of Albbottstown, died Wed morning from endocarditis,aged 43 years, 2 months, 6 days, Her illness dates back to last Sep, but she had been bedfast since Dec 4th. Mrs. Baker was a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.F. Hollinger, of Abbottstown, and the wife of George W. Baker, clerk to the Adams county commissioners, whom she married on Nov 29, 1900, and who survives with the following children: Helen, Anna Gitt, and Thomas H; also a sister, Miss E. Grace Hollinger, of Abbottstown, and a brother, Geo. G. Hollinger, Philadelphia. Mrs. Baker was a member of the Lutheran Church of Abbottstown. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery, Abbottstown, Fri afternooon.

York, were held in Feiser Funeral home, New Oxford, Wed morning. Interment was in New Oxford Cemetery. Mrs. Seaks, wife of John M. Seaks, who formerely resided in Abbottstown, died Sunday after a fall at the home of her son in Alexandria, VA. Pallbearers were John M. Sheffer, Fre Baker, George Hollinger, Guy Hollinger, Charles R. Gearhart and Charles LEwis.

1956- lived in Washington, PA. Tom H. Baker - The Gettysburg Times 30 Mar 1981 Tom H. Baker, a retired gas company employee, died Sunday at his home at Mars. He was 71. Born in Abbottstown, he was a son of the late George W. and Maude Hollinger Baker. Mr. Baker was a graduate of the Harrisburg Technical High Scholl, clas of 1928, and Gettysburg College, class of 1932. He was a retired employee of the Columbia Gas Co, of Pittsburg. He had worked for the company for 26 years. Mr. Baker was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church at Mars. He was also a member and past master of the Hebron Lodge 465 F & AM in New Oxford amd a ,e,ner and past president of the Pirrsburgh Mineral Lipidary Society. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Amos Baker; a son, David A. Baker of Valencia, R.3; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Gearhart, of Valencia R.3l and four grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Helen Sheffer of Hanover, also survivies. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thurs at the St. Johns Lutheran Church cemetery in Abbottstown.
