The name Wood was found in Horace's stuff. (Andrew Robeson, vol III). I also have Woods as the first name. 1880 census has Woods. Marriage certificate says J. Wood Smith. Could be John or James Woods Smith Parents were born in PA. 1900 - he was a farmer. 1930 - dairy farmer Sep 14 1904 Tyrone Daily Herald James Woods Smith, a well known farmer and prominent citizen, died at his home in Sinking Valley, yesterday morning at 9 oclock, of Bright's disease, after a four weeks confinement to his home. The deceased was the son of Thomas and matildaSmith, both deceased, and was born in Frankstown township, May 4, 1846, being aged at death 58 years, 4 months and 10 days. He was a member and at time of death an elder of the Presbyterian church at Birmingham. He is survived by his wife,Florence L. (Robeson) Smith, and the following children, viz: Wilbur I., Helen W., Joseph F., Leonora F., and Donald R. Smith, all at the family home. A brother, Irvin Smith of Hollidaysburg, also survives the deceased. Mr. Smith had been a resident of Sinking Valley since 1879. The funeral will take place Sep 17. Interment will follow in Grandview cemetery, Tyrone.

Helen Woods Smith Passed away in Clearfield Hospital after short illness. Miss Helen Woods DMith of 1060 Bald Eagle avenue, who had been in failing healthfor a year, although able to perform her duties as a clerk in the offices of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company, up until very recently, died suddenly after her entrance to the Clearfield hosptial on Saturday afternoon. Miss Smith had been a patient sufferer the past year from a goitre and her condition became very serious last week, especially on Friday, when it was decided that an operation was absolutley necessary. She was gotten ready and with several friends, wentto the hospital in an automobile after dinner on Saturday. Before her folks hadarrived home, word was received that she had slipped out of this life into the great eternal world beyond. Miss helen Smith was one of Tyrone's very best women, She was a quiet, home-loving girl, very devoted to her mother and brothers. She was active in church, Sunday School and Missionary work and gave of her time, money and talents in furthering those useful and very helpful organizations and in helping others to live better and cleaner lives, In the Sunday school where she taught a class of young people, she will be greatly missed as only sickness or death prevented her from being present. She was faithful to every duty. Her life was beautifully lived and in its simplicity won others to follow the Master. In the home where she was so useful, so kind and loving, she will be missed while those with whom she camein contact know full well that she is safe in the harbor of rest with Him whom she loved to serve. Miss Smith had been a resident of Tyrone the past 16 years and for several yearshad been employed as a clerk in the offices of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company. She was born on the Smith fam in Sinking Valle, Sep 28, 1881, the daughter of Woods (deceased) and Mrs. Florence Robeson Smith. Surviving her passing are her mother and these brothers and sister: Wilbur I., Joseph F., and Donald F., of Tyrone and Mrs. Grover Cunningham of Juniata. Funeral services will be held at the home 1060 Bald Eagle Ave. Interment in Grandview Cemetery.

Smith, well known WW veteran, 1064 Bald Eagle avenue, died this morning at the Veteran's Diagnostic Center, Washington, D.C. where he had been a patient since Mar 27th of this year. Mr. Smith submitted to an operation at the center yesterday. Donald Smith was a son of J. Woods and Florence L. (Robeson) Smith, and was bornin Sinking Valley. He never married. He was a resident of Tyrone for his entirelife. Members of the family include these brothers and sister: Wilbur I. Smith, Sinking Valley; Joseph F. Smith and Mrs. Florence L. Cunningham, Tyrone. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Tyrone.
