John Briggs

John Briggs was born in 1642 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, USA as the second child of John Briggs and Sarah Cornell. He had five siblings, namely: Enoch, Thomas, William, Job, and Susanna. He died on 02 Jul 1713 in Little Compton, Newport, Rhode Island, USA. When he was 22, He married Hannah Fisher,daughter of Edward Fisher and Judith Smith, in 1664 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, USA.

John Briggs and Hannah Fisher had the following children:

1.	Susanna Briggs was born on Mar 1670/71 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts, USA. She died in Apr 1742 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, USA. She marriedJoseph Cooke on 19 Apr 1692 in Portsmouth, Newport, Rhode Island, USA.

He was a Quaker and in 1682 he lived in Tiverton, R.I. He had a farm near PacketBrook in Punkatest, bounded by the Little Compton line, west by Packet Brook and highway, north by Major Poldings pond. In 1687 John bought 100 acres of land in Punkatest and 1/8 of a share in Little Compton, R.I.
