                   Deer Creek became Churchville, MD. Probably received his name from his uncle Dr.Robert Harris, of Philadelphia. He is mentioned as "Bobbie".
Moved to Tuscarora Valley in 1775, and lived there, Harris Mills (now Doyle's Mills) until he reached adulthood. Sold his share of the paternal farm in 1790.
In 1797 he moved West, first to Nine Mile Run, Allegheny Co, PA (probably with his youngest sister Sutia and her husband), then onto Butler Co, PA., where in 1803, a Robert Stewart was taxed for 170 acres in Middlesex Township, Butler, PA.
Between 1810 and 1812, he moved to Meyers' Run (or Turtle Creek), Allegheny, PA (about 12 miles out of Pittsburg), the family remained for only a short time before finally moving to Allegheny Township (afterwards City) on the northern side of the Allegheny river, opposite Pitturgh.
29 Sep 1814, he bought a lot on the NW corner of Federal and Diamond streets. Was the oldest brick building in town.
Religion: Presbyterian.
Profession: blacksmith, cutler, and sickle maker. Probably learned his trade at Mifflintown. For some years he kept a hotel, and also ran the ferry between Allegheny and Pittsburg. The tavern was located a short distance above Federal St. on the banks of the river.
Died at his nephew John Harris Stewart's home. Licking Creek is near Mifflintown.
