                   Alive on Oct 22 1766, when he witnessed his mother-in-law's will. Although the same book says he died on 30 Aug 1766. Buried next to his first  wife, Margaret.He was Captain of "The Philadelphia Company" in 1760, a prominent merchant in Philadelphia.

                   Apparently no children. Second wife of William. She was very active in the church. A communion service, which she presented to the church was stillin use in 1916, and bore this inscription: "The Gift of Mrs. Vanderspiegle to the Swedish Lutheran Church at Wicaco, Anno Domini 1773." Her tombstone is beneath the floor atGloria Dei Church. "In memory of Elizabeth Vanderspiegle, widow of William Vanderspiegle, late of Philadelphia, Merchant, daughter of the late Andrew and Magdalen RObeson, and granddaughter of the later Rev. Andrew Rudman. died February 23rd, 1774, aged 52 years.
