Andrew YORKE
Given shares of the privateer "Brittania" by his cousin Rudman Robeson. Captain Thomas Yorke was Capt. & Quartermaster of the Militia of Salem,N.J. during the Revolution. He took part in many engagements above Red Bank N.J. and was aide to Gen. Newcombe, Brig.Gen.N.J. Militia 1777. He and his wife were married by Rev. Mr. Wrangel of Wicaco,PA.

He was Purser on Privateer "Shadow," during the war of 1812. He afterward tradedas Capt. of the "Shadow," first in the West Indies, then in Europe, and finallyin the East Indies. He later abandoned the sea, and lived with his sister Eleanor Hancock at Hancock's Bridge N.J. He was unmarried.
He married Eleanor Coxe 6 Mar 1765 at Gloria dei, Old Swedes Church, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania . Eleanor Coxe was born at PA 1746 .
