In the commencement of the war he was captured in the firstarmed vessel, it is thought to jave been the "Delaware" and that he was in command. Edward was possessed of an ample fortune, which was lost consequent on the depreciation of currency and other causes incident to war. While Edward was awayin the war, the British took possession of the home on Arch St. and most of thecontents were destroyed.
