Named in honor of his mother's brother. When the family moved to PA, he was leftin the care of his uncle Zebdial Woodworth, he later joined that family in OH. After the breakup of the family homestead, they sought employment elsewhere. They went to Hastings, Richland, and rented land which they worked for some 3 years. Chauncey returned to Perry and was married. Immediately after he was married he headed West to be with his brother Ansel, in St. Joseph, IN. He bought a tractof land about 4 miles SW of Mishawaka, where he remained for many years. He then moved to the little village of Osceola, 4 miles E of Mishawaka. He sold this in 1876, when he purchased a home in the village, where he died. He was one of the most honorable and lovable of his father's family. He was quiet, gentle and very retreating in his manner, but he was nevertheless shrewd and successful in business. He was almost a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and died a peaceful death.

Called Horty. Was converted at Osceola when he was 18, and immediately felt a call to the ministry. After a year at the Northwestern University at Evanston,ILL,he began work at Huntertown, IND, and rose to prominence in the North Indiana conference, serving such charges as Auburn, Ligonier and Kendallville. It was while he was a Kendallville that met with accidental death. He was killed by a gravel train with Henry Boles. This is a brief clipping from the "Enterprise" of Mishawaka: The funeral of Rev. Lamport was held in the afternoon with the services at the Methodist Church at Mishawaka, and interment in the cemetery here. It wasthe biggest funeral ever held here. In addition to the long concorse of friendsand mourners from Osceola, a great many Mishawakans who had known and loved thedeceased were in attendance. And besides these, a special train, brought several hundred members of the Odd Fellows fraternity of which he was a member. And many other sorrowing friends grom Auburn, Kendallville, Ligwiser, Bristol, Waterloo and other places where Mr. Lamport had preached and was well known. These cameto pay their last honors to the dead pastor and Brother. "The church large as it was, could not begin to hold all the crowd. The casket was fairly buried in beautiful floral tributes. The services were conducted by Rev. D.C. Woolpert, assisted by a number of ministers, friends of the deceased. All these reverend gentlemen had him long and well, and their testimonials framed a peculiarly unique and touching memorial of the departed brother's virtues."
The Kendallville Standard said: "It was undoubtedly the most genuinely pathetic funeral ever held in the vicinity, and the fact that those who knew him best andwere his most initimate acquaintences, were deepest mourners, is the highest tribute that can be paid to Mortal man. After the services the casket was opened for an hour, a compact line of people passed before it. The dead man's features did not show the terrible manner of his death, but was composed and almost radiant with the old smile so familiar to his friends. So natural were they that scarcely any could realize he was dead, but few turned from the casket with dry eyes.

Known as Marry in boyhood. Began as a schoolteacher after studying at the Northern Indiana Normal School at Valpariso, graduation in 1868. He was successful in his work in various towns in Northern IN until 1886, when yielding to convictions he had long felt. He entered the ministry of the Methodist Church and joined the Northern IN conference of which his brother and cousin were members. He served the church at Orland, Bristol and Garrett, when failing health compelled his superannuation. Since 1894 he had lived at Bristol, where he was doing a properous merchantile business.
