Lamar LAMPORT

                   Known as Marry in boyhood. Began as a schoolteacher after studying at the Northern Indiana Normal School at Valpariso, graduation in 1868. He was successful in his work in various towns in Northern IN until 1886, when yielding to convictions he had long felt. He entered the ministry of the Methodist Church and joined the Northern IN conference of which his brother and cousin were members. He served the church at Orland, Bristol and Garrett, when failing health compelled his superannuation. Since 1894 he had lived at Bristol, where he was doing a properous merchantile business.
