                   RESEARCH NOTE:
The Allred Family organization has done significant research on this line to conclude that this Ellen Pemberton who is the wife of John Allred is the illegitimate daughter of John Pemberton and Margaret Smith. Research previously doubted if Ellen Pemberton was the correct wife of John Allred. The Allred Newsletter of Spring 2010 states that a Pemberton family letter confirms that John Allred was married to Ellen Pemberton. Further research may help to document thier findings.

NOTE:
Ellen became a Quaker and that is one reason why they moved to Pennsylvania for religious freedom and to practice religion with other Quakers. Ellen was raised in cousin Ralph Pemberton's household and treated like Ralph's sister.
