Will of Richard Routt, Sr. recorded in Northumberland Count y Virginia,Record Book B 1710-1713 page 315-316.In the name of God, Amen, February the 26th. 1710, I, Richa rd RouttSenr. of St. Stephens Parish in the County of North umberland andColony of Virginia, being in good health in bo dy and mind and inperfect memory and remembrance praised b e God, do make this my lastwill and testament in manner an d forme following. First andprincipally I commend my soul t o God that gave it to me and my body Icommitt to the Eart h from whence it was taken to be intered at thediscretion o f my Executrix hereafter nominated. Item: I do give and beq ueath unto my Son Thos: Routt ye threehundred acres of lan d being formerly given to him by me by deed ofgift and is r ecorded which said deed of gift he is to receive after myde cease which said three hundred acres of land I do give unt o my SenThos: Routt and to his heirs and assigns for ever . Item: I do give and bequeath unto my Son Richard Routt th e threehundred acres of land I now live on which said thre e hundred acres ofland I do unto my Son Richard Rout and t o his heirs and assigns forever. Item: The two hundred acre s of land which formerly I gave untomy Son William Routt de cd. for want of a male heir of his bodybegotten I do now gi ve and bequeath unto my above said Son RichardRoutt or to h is heirs or assigns for ever. Item: I do give and bequeat h unto my Son George Routt twohundred and fifty acres of la nd which I now hold and possess lying andbeing upon Aquakic k Run in Stafford County, which said two hundredfifty acre s of land I do give and bequeath unto my Son Geo: Routt and to his heirs and assigns for ever. Item: I do give and bequ eath unto my Son Thos: Routt twentyshillings. Item: I do gi ve and bequeath unto my Son Richard Routt twocows with al l their future increase after my decease. Item: I do give a nd bequeath to my Granddaughter, ElizabethRoutt, Daughter o f my Son William Routt decd. one shilling. Item: I do giv e and bequeath to my granddaughter, Anne Routt,Daughter o f my Son William Routt deed. one shilling.
