    MIMB: Henry Fix was born in Alsace France 24th Dec. 1802 and emigrated with
    his wife and children to the United States in May 1843.  They landed in
    New York and traveled West by steamer and canal to Wayne County, Ohio,
    arriving in July.  In 1844 they continued on to Williams County where
    they lived until after his wife's death 21st March 1875.  In 1881 Henry
    went to Florence Twp. (near Edon, Ohio) to live with his son, Martin, and
    died of asthma Jan. 3, 1886.  There were eight children. (MIMB is the tag for
    notes from the family history written by Mary Irene Miller Bisel, a great
    granddaughter of Henry, when she was terminally ill from cancer in 1984.)
