Henry FIX
Birth: year confirmed as 1802 from age 47 listed in 1850 census. Census 1850: District 152, Center Twp., Williams Co., Ohio, Film 444,734, page 148. 1860 census film 805,052, pg 182 Center Twp. (stamp 91) MIMB: Henry Fix was born in Alsace France 24th Dec. 1802 and emigrated with his wife and children to the United States in May 1843. They landed in New York and traveled West by steamer and canal to Wayne County, Ohio, arriving in July. In 1844 they continued on to Williams County where they lived until after his wife's death 21st March 1875. In 1881 Henry went to Florence Twp. (near Edon, Ohio) to live with his son, Martin, and died of asthma Jan. 3, 1886. There were eight children. (MIMB is the tag for notes from the family history written by Mary Irene Miller Bisel, a great granddaughter of Henry, when she was terminally ill from cancer in 1984.)
