Name: Many have thought that Diana was the daughter of Nehemiah Livingstone and Indiana Foster.  However, Nehemiah was born 22 April 1809 in New York, which makes it impossible for him to be the father of Diana, who was born in 1811.  On the Payson Ward rolls, the mother of James Henry Ellsworth was listed as Diana HERRICK.  Much research has been done to solve the mystery surrounding Diana, but no documented proof of her maiden name or parents has been found to date (June 2011).
